Ken Sabourin came to Milwaukee as a tough 11 year veteran with significant NHL experience. A sizable figure at 6 foot 4 inches and 230 pounds, Sabourin was a durable player that suited up almost every night. In five seasons with the Admirals he played in 390 games, good for fifth all-time, and missed just 20 contests over that span. "Ken was a strong, durable performer and a real competitor," Phil Witliff said. "He was a tremendous physical presence who used his size as a terrific asset." Sabourin was not afraid to use his size to stick up for his teammates. Through his time with the Admirals he racked up 1,233 penalty minutes, which stills stands as the most in team history. He posted more than 200 penalty minutes in four of his five seasons and led the Admirals in penalty minutes those seasons. He posed as a great example for the younger players who were aspiring to make it to the NHL because of his experience in the NHL. Though he was considered a stay at home defensive defenseman he still managed to contribute on the offensive side of the puck. He posted 19 points in each of his first two seasons, which were his career bests for the Admirals. He managed to post a total of 65 points over his career for the Admirals He knew the skills that he had and used them to the best of his ability to have a very successful career. He was a strong and durable performer and a real competitor. He was a tremendous physical presence and used his size as a great asset. The Admirals made playoff appearances in all 5 seasons that Sabourin played here. Ken anchored the 94-95 team that made it to the Western Conference finals before falling short to the Denver Grizzlies. |
