I Love, I Love This Calendar Fluff

Happy new year, everybody!
I’m so fired up for 2011. Like you, I have a lot of things I plan to do this year. I do that every year. Unlike every other year, though, I plan on following through beyond the 10 minutes it took me to devise my plan. I hope the new year brings you unlimited friendships, peace, health and wealth. Resolve to work at it.
A couple notes from 2010…
The Admirals posted a record of 42-31-3-7 (.566) in the calendar year. The team played 47 games after the calendar flipped to 2010 to finish last season before 36 more to start the 2010-2011 campaign.
The top goal scorers for the calendar year:
Chris Mueller – 20
Mike Santorelli – 17
Linus Klasen – 15
Hugh Jessiman - 14
Mark Santorelli – 13
Jon Blum – 12
Dave Scatchard - 12
Andreas Thuresson – 11
Entering Sunday’s game against San Antonio, the Admirals have 44 games remaining in 2011, with 27 of those at the Bradley Center. That could prove to be the difference in a close divisional race to be a first place team or completely out of the playoffs.
Remember, the crossover is back in play this season for the 5th place team in the West if it’s better than the 4th place team in the North.
Moving on…
Friday, the music mix in the locker room for the morning skate was probably the best it’s been all year. That’s my opinion, probably Lane Lambert’s, too. Michael Jackson, The Buggles,
Prince,
Bonnie Tyler,
Kim Carnes…it was 1983 in that room. Admirals forward
Steve Begin did the dance from “Thriller”. I’m pretty sure he can do the whole thing.
I leave you with a song
I sang on a plane with a friend of mine the last time I went to Las Vegas. People around us were so surprised that A) Someone was singing and 2) that it was SO GOOD. Happy New Year!
