Will a Classic Beget a Classic?

Game five was awesome to be part of.
Even if the Admirals had lost that game in Texas, it was a tremendous game. Big saves, hits, passes, penalty kills. That was a great hockey game. It was as fun a game as I’ve been a part of.
Fortunately, the Admirals won. Gabriel Bourque showed unbelievable coolness on the doorstep to kick the puck from his right skate to forehand and tie the game with 4.4 seconds to play.
Ryan Thang took on the shooter’s mentality and blasted (I mean BLASTED) a shot from the right circle in overtime to win the game. Thang has one of the better shots on the club.
Kelsey Wilson’s return to the lineup certainly helped Milwaukee. He’s in good shape and was able to provide some experience and toughness to the lineup.
What stands out to me is the confidence the Admirals played with in games four and five. After having a 2-0 lead in the third and eventually losing game three, the Admirals have been more assertive, in control and a lot cooler on the ice in games four and five.
To clinch on Monday, Milwaukee needs to avoid the penalty box. It also needs to play the matchups. Lane Lambert does that as well as any coach I’ve seen.
It’s really crazy how close these teams are. Game six oughta be a classic. You oughta be at the Bradley Center Monday night at 7pm.
