For those of you that thought the guys from Admirals Short Shifts were gone, think again. Well, kind of…
Ryan Miller, who contributed to the blog at Sportsbubbler.com and then eventually JSOnline.com, is back to provide an outlet for Admirals fans once again at
www.admiralsroundtable.com.
Ryan stresses on the website “This is not going to be Short Shifts Part II. The cast is going to be different, and the focus is going to be different. While Short Shifts was more of a snarky-beat-writer kind of format, this blog is intended to be news and discussion driven.”
He continues, “Some things may be the same….there may be some running jokes, we may still give
Mark Santorelli a hard time, and we may be able to coax Eric Kent out of retirement to create an April Fools Day post for the ages. But first and foremost, this is intended to be an outlet for you to speak your mind about the local hockey team that you love, and hopefully you will feel inclined to contribute often to the roundtable.”
If you aren’t on Twitter, you should be. So many news stories can be found quickly off that site, if you follow the right people. Follow
@adsroundtable to keep up to date with what Ryan is doing on the website.
By the way, here are a few more Twitter suggestions:
Joshua Cooper (Predators beat writer for “The Tennesseean”):
@JoshuaCooper Tom Callahan (Nashville play-by-play announcer):
@predsradio Cellblock303 (Nashville Predators blogger/podcast):

There are tons more out there, but this group will give you good information as to what’s happening with the Predators and Admirals.
It’s exciting that there are so many outlets to find information about everything. I heard a great comment regarding today’s media. A person being interviewed on the radio said “People need to realize that THEY ARE THE MEDIA. With Facebook, Twitter, Youtube and blogs, ANYBODY can be a member of the media.”
People blast
TMZ because it’s not “traditional”. The fact of the matter is TMZ is usually first and, more importantly, correct in what they’re reporting. Many professional sports teams, led by the
Washington Capitals, have credentialed bloggers to cover their teams.
If you want to blog, then go ahead and do it. Will you make money? It’s hard to say. Is that your goal? If it is, can you do it better than anyone else? What can you bring to the party that no one else is?
Ryan isn’t doing this for the money. But, he has been doing it the best.
Moving on…
Former Admirals Mike Santorelli and Triston Grant played for Florida in an exhibition game last night. Santorelli scored a power play goal and a penalty in the Panthers 4-1 win over Carolina. Santorelli played 16:17 Grant played 8:44 and had a double-minor for roughing. Both players recorded two shots on goal.
