I am very excited about our home opener on Saturday night at the Bradley Center. First I am happy to finally play a home game after six straight road games. This is the latest home opener in Admirals history so it will be good to get on the home ice, which by the way, features new dasherboards and new glass thanks to the Bradley Center. The new boards replace the original set from when the BC opened in 1988.
We are very honored to host eight special guests on Opening Night. They are truly Heroes in our Community and include Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett, Milwaukee Police Officers Graham Kunisch and Bryan Norberg, Milwaukee Firefighters John and Joel Rechlitz, Elm Grove Police Officer John Krahn, US Navy Petty Officer Jaymz Touchstone and five-year old DJ Harper. Each of these people have done something heroic since we last played a home game back in May. To learn more about them please see the story here on the website.
From a hockey standpoint, we continue to see a lot of player movement between Milwaukee and Nashville. Hopefully the changes will get Nashville going as they’ve gotten off to a slow start. We have had solid start continuing the road-heavy schedule and I can see that we will have a very balanced scoring team as it seems to be a different group of players contributing each night.
I hope to see you at the Bradley Center on Saturday night to pay tribute to our heroes and enjoy the home opener!
