Thank you to everyone who supported our annual Charity Game yesterday. We had a phenomenal crowd of 12,246 which allows us to get a check to the Make-A-Wish Foundation for more than $24,000. We are grateful for the support of the fans who came out. We also are grateful to our media partners in this effort – Fox 6 and 620 WTMJ. They really did a fantastic job of helping us to get the word out as did the other members of the media who made time for us to come out and tell our story.
I am excited for Olympic Hockey to start. Obviously the women’s tournament has already started and there are many Wisconsin ties to the US Women’s team lead by Wisconsin Head Coach Mark Johnson and a member of the 1980 Miracle on Ice team. The men’s tournament certainly features many Admirals alumni including Alex Sulzer, who has spent considerable time here this year. He is playing for Germany.
We’ll be looking forward to seeing Ryan Suter play for Team USA. Not only is Ryan an Admirals alum but he is also the assistant captain of this year’s team and the son of Bob Suter, another player from that historic 1980 squad. It was a pleasure to meet Bob on January 31 when he made an appearance our game.
Lots of fun Admirals hockey yet to be played at the Bradley Center in February. Four big home games, all in against West Division foes, that will be important in the very, very tight divisional race! I hope to see you at the BC!
Go Admirals!
