After watching the Stanley Cup Finals and keeping up on the Calder Cup Finals, it makes me wish that we were still playing. It seems like ages ago that our guys were out there trying to upset Chicago and move on to the next round. I think if we would have been able to advance that we would have had a real good chance to still be playing. We would have defeated the number one seed in our division and we would have added Nick Spaling, Colin Wilson and Cody Franson to our roster as well as gotten Blake Geoffrion back on the ice. That would have made us pretty tough I think. As we like to say though – coulda, woulda, shoulda.
The Flyers and Blackhawks have given us a lot of excitement in their series. There have either been a lot of goals or very tight, nailbiting, edge of your seat games. I personally would like to thank Mike Emrick for his awesome calls of these games. He really brings a lot of energy and compels you to watch. He’s also a great friend to the AHL and often mentions what is going on in our league which is great.
How about the Texas Stars??? Winning twice in Hershey to start the Calder Cup Finals??!! Are you kidding me? I really didn’t think that was possible. Then Hershey, down 3-1 in game three, scores five unanswered goals to be jolt themselves back into the series. The games have all been sellouts which is great.
Thanks to all who came out to our Garage Sale. We had a record year!!
The home Opening Night is Saturday, October 9 at the Bradley Center against a to-be-determined opponent. It will be here before you know it.
