It’s a very exciting time of the year around the Admirals offices. When the calendar hits August, it means that the Wisconsin State Fair is just ahead. The State Fair is a big event for our staff as we have a big presence in the Wisconsin Expo Hall and are co-sponsors of the Racing Pigs, a very popular daily event on the Fairgrounds.

This year’s State Fair will also be where we make a special announcement regarding a change that I think that people will be very interested in this season. We have Admirals forward and 2010 Hobey Baker winner Blake Geoffrion coming over from Madison to help us unveil this new change as well as sign autographs for fans. In addition, we’ll have some new apparel available in the Expo Hall at our booth and deals throughout the Fair which runs through August 15.

Also, we’ll have the announcement coming of our 2010-11 schedule in the next two weeks. This is such an important part of our business. It allows us to start to make our travel plans for the season as well as assign many of our promotional ideas to specific dates.

Regarding the schedule, we worked really hard to try and play teams from the Eastern Conference this season. Unfortunately, that didn’t work out. I am pleased to say that we will again have a new team coming to Milwaukee that hasn’t been here before – the Oklahoma City Oilers. They are a new team this season and are affiliated with the Edmonton Oilers.

So, it’s a busy time but a really important time. We are ready to get started in earnest.
