The playoffs are finally here. After a seven months of hockey, the Calder Cup playoffs start tonight for the Admirals.

There is a different feel about playoff hockey as every power play and every penalty kill are magnified. Every mistake can turn into a momentum changer.

We are playing the defending Western Conference champion Texas Stars in the first round and it should be quite a series. We are very evenly matched. I am glad to have home ice as the result of having the best record in the Western Conference during the regular season. Playing in front of our fans should be a great advantage so we need you to be loud and enthusiastic and give our guys an extra push.

Congratulations to Nashville on winning their playoff opener, 4-1, over Anaheim last night. It was great to see some of our guys involved in the scoring. Jon Blum and Blake Geoffrion both had assists. They play again on Friday night in Anaheim and will try and take a big 2-0 advantage heading back to Nashville. Good luck Preds!
