Any idea of the significance of April 14, 2005?
It was the 140th anniversary of the assassination of Abraham Lincoln by John Wilkes Booth.
It was the 93rd anniversary of the Titanic hitting an iceberg.
It was the 45th anniversary of the Montreal Canadiens winning their fifth straight Stanley Cup.
It was also the announcement of Harris Turer’s purchase of the Admirals.
Yes, amazingly I have now been the President of the Admirals for six years. The time has just rocketed by and it has been an absolute blast and I thank Harris for the opportunity to lead this fantastic organization.
We have accomplished a lot in those six years and a lot of the credit has to go to the hard-working, fun-loving, creative staff that we have put together. We’ve had so much fun that even the hard days really don’t seem so bad in retrospect. We’ve come a long way but we still have a long way to go.
Thank you to all of you for your growing support of the Admirals since that memorable day in 2005. We hope that you have enjoyed and will continue to enjoy Admirals hockey for a long time to come.
