Finishing Up

Wow. What a ride that was!

The Admirals just-concluded playoff run was the most competitive three and half weeks of hockey that I think I’ve witnessed in my time here. The quality of play exhibited by Milwaukee, Texas and Houston was exceptional. Teams had to pay for their mistakes and had to play all 60 minutes and sometimes more. No leads were safe until there was no time left on the clock.

I enjoyed watching our players develop during these playoffs. You can’t say enough about Jeremy Smith. From starting the season in Cincinnati to his top-notch performances in the playoffs really speaks to how far he came during the season.

We also got a glimpse at the future of the Admirals with Ryan Ellis, Taylor Beck, Mike Latta, Austin Watson and Atte Engren just to name a few getting their feet wet in April and May hockey.

I also want to take a minute to congratulate Lane Lambert and Ian Herbers on a job well done. They worked tirelessly to prepare this team since last September for a successful season. While the end comes suddenly and I know there is disappointment, I hope that they will realize what they accomplished this year.

More people came out to watch Admirals hockey this year than any other year for the current ownership group and we hope that you enjoyed the experience as much as we did bringing it to you. Thank you for ALL of your support whether it was through a ticket purchase, a merchandise purchase or simply by listening to the games on the radio.

We are already working on plans for next season which will be here right after we enjoy another great Wisconsin summer.
