Congratulations to the Milwaukee Brewers on winning the National League Central Division!
I couldn’t be happier for all of those in the Brewers organization who have toiled for many years who worked so hard for this to happen. There are many people in the front office who have been with the team for decades who are now celebrating in a big way and they are really deserving. People like Lisa Brzeski, Barb Stark, Tony Migliaccio, Phil Rozewicz, Aleta Mercer, Wes Seidel and many more who were with me at the Brewers for a long time deserve to really enjoy this moment.
Also, congrats to the baseball side on this great accomplishment. It’s great to see hockey fans like Nyjer Morgan, Rickie Weeks, Craig Counsell, Dale Sveum and Admirals investor Gord Ash reach this first goal that I am sure they set for themselves this season. Keep it rolling boys! Three more series to win and then we can have a World Series trophy and the Lombardi Trophy call Wisconsin home at the same time! How cool would that be?
Congrats to all of the Brewers fans who came out in huge numbers this year to support the team. So many of you have also come to see the Admirals play during the Fall and Winter. For many of you this is the first baseball division title of your lives so enjoy it. I remember the excitement of 1982 like it was yesterday. It’s really big fun.
Finally, congrats to Harris Turer and Mark Attanasio, both Admirals and Brewers owners, on this achievement. They should be applauded for “going for it”!
This is going to be a great time of civic pride while the Brewers are in the playoffs and the Admirals are starting their season with the home opener on October 14. I know that I am going to be enjoying all of it!
Go Brewers! Go Admirals!
