Milwaukee Admirals

A Good Start

October 20

It has been a great start to the Admirals season and I couldn’t be more pleased.

I really like the energy, enthusiasm and camaraderie in our locker room as the season gets underway. While we do have quite a few new faces on the team this year, our veteran guys have really helped to shape the room early on and that can only pay benefits in the long run. Our captain this year, Scott Ford, has taken that role to heart and he will be a good leader for our group.

Also, the attitude which has come from our new head coach, Kirk Muller, has been very energetic and positive. I wasn’t sure how long it would take for the guys to get used to a new voice and a new direction but Kirk’s history in the game has been magnetic for our players. He brings a huge cachet of high quality experiences that he can share with all of us and we look forward to going through this year with him.

As we head into Abbotsford this weekend, we have an American Hockey League record 18-straight road games where we earned at least a point. What we have been able to do away from the Bradley Center since January is nothing short of amazing. It really is remarkable to be able to go into hostile environments and come 18 straight times with an advancement in the standings is quite an accomplishment. Hopefully it will continue this weekend against the Heat but if not, it has been quite a run and shows the mental toughness of Milwaukee Admirals hockey players.

I look forward to seeing all of you at the Bradley Center on the 29th and 30th of October when we finally return to the home ice.
