So it’s November…or should I say Movember. In the hockey world, Movember is a time to bring awareness to prostate cancer research. It’s also a time for those of us involved with teams to grow mustaches as part of this effort.

There is currently a poll here at milwaukeeadmirals.com about whether you’ll try to grow a mustache this month. While I am joining the effort I think my correct answer to the poll question would be number 3 – I would if I could! It has been 16 days and I think it’s fair to say that I will not be winning any competitions for facial hair growth any time soon. Zack Stortini and Jeremy Smith, on the other hand, are doing an excellent job with their ‘stache’s.

All of this is being done to raise not only awareness but also dollars for the American Cancer Society here in Wisconsin to be directed toward the research of this all too common disease. You can help us through liking the Admirals on Facebook and Twitter, sitting in the “‘Stache Section” (221) at November games, and by voting for the Admirals players (or me) with the best mustaches. Monies will be donated by the Admirals for each of these things to the ACS.

I also encourage you to read the questionnaires here on the website of the mustache growing group. Funny stuff. The name of Scott Valentine’s mustache is priceless and makes me laugh every time.

We’re off to a solid start this season. With three games this weekend, let’s keep it rolling!
