The American Hockey League All-Star Game is upon us. This year's game will be played in Atlantic City, New Jersey which should be a lot of fun. It's a destination location which will appeal to fans of all of the teams in the league. I think we'll see lots of different teams jerseys in the stands at Boardwalk Hall. It's a neat experience and hopefully one everyone will get a chance to enjoy someday. If you can't be there, the All-Star Skills Competition will be held on Sunday, January 29 and be televised live on Time Warner Sports (32) and the game will be Monday, January 30, also televised live on TWS.
It's time for the annual question about when will the Admirals host the All-Star Game. The answer to that is that we annually review the potential of doing the game here. There are many, many factors that go into the decision, some of which are out of our hands. There are financial decisions, building availability issues, staffing and hospitality questions that need to be answered and much more. I will say that if we ever do decide to formally bid for the game and get it that we know it will be both a great party and also a celebration of hockey.
For now, I will be excited to see Chris Mueller play in this year's game. He has had a really nice season so far and is very deserving of the honor. Ryan Ellis was also named to the team but it would appear that his call-up to Nashville will take him out of the festivities.
Lots of big things coming up at the Bradley Center over the next few weeks starting with this Friday night's FM106 and Coors Light Country Music Night against Chicago. After the game, we'll be entertained by Grammy Award winner Dierks Bentley. Up-and-comer Erica Hoyt will play the East Atrium before the game and during the intermissions. The first 5,000 fans will get Admirals pennants thanks to Patrick Cudahy.
Then, after the All-Star Break, we'll get back after it on Friday, February 3 when we don Brewers style jerseys as we host Peoria. The first 5,000 fans get an Admirals/Brewers drawstring bags. They are really nice. We'll also honor Milwaukeean and new Brewers front office member Craig Counsell during the night.
A lot of great stuff ahead on the promotional docket. Hope to see you at the Bradley Center.
