Happy Training Camp!
It is fantastic to see hockey being played in Milwaukee again. The summer was awesome but seeing the 2012-13 Admirals pre-season roster on the ice again is a real breath of fresh air. The energy, enthusiasm and intensity that have been part of the early on-ice sessions have been very encouraging. Watching our new coach, Dean Evason, interact with the team gives me confidence that we are in store for a great season.
I have also been impressed with the players willingness to step out and introduce themselves this year. We have some new faces and to a man they have all been very cordial. It is particularly impressive that our European players have felt comfortable enough to do that. I can’t wait to see them with our fans. I think we may have something special going on this year.
With the NHL lockout unfortunately still going on, we here in the American Hockey League are going to be playing the best hockey in North America. All of our teams have a handful of young players who have spent considerable time in the NHL. In Milwaukee we are lucky to have Gabriel Bourque, Jon Blum and Ryan Ellis (unfortunately banged up) with us. They will add a lot to our roster. So, if you are a hockey fan be sure to listen to our games on 1250 WSSP, watch on AHLLive.com or come to the BMO Harris Bradley Center and check us out. I think you’ll be impressed.
Go Admirals!
