It’s great to be home!

After a long, hot, fun summer it is great to be back in cool comforts of the BMO Harris Bradley Center for the start of Admirals hockey. The arena is ready, the ice looks phenomenal and our team is excited to get back on the ice.

We had a successful Opening Night in Grand Rapids last Friday. I was very impressed with our ability to comeback from a 2-0 hole to win. It was great to see the speed our team played with as well as the creativity in the offensive zone. Jeremy Smith was very good in goal and I was very happy for Dean Evason, our new head coach, who recorded his first win at the helm of the Admirals ship.

It will be great to get back in front of our fans on Friday night. It will be a special night as it’s not only the home opener but also a chance to honor two heroic police officers, Lieutenant Brian Murphy and Officer Sam Lenda of the Oak Creek Police Department. The two brave law enforcement officials were the first responders on August 5 at the tragic Sikh Temple event which took six lives and wounded four others. We will honor them as well as all those who keep us safe as part of our Harley Davidson Museum Hometown Heroes tribute during the game. It will be an honor for me to meet them.

I look forward to seeing you at the BMOHBC!!
