Hey Fans, Roscoe here! Happy New Year to all! Sorry I have been missing for awhile, it was a very busy holiday season for me, but I am glad to say I’m back and ready to roll! Since the last time I wrote I’ve been having lots of fun visiting all of the Milwaukee Admirals reading program schools. I really enjoy getting to meet all of Milwaukee’s newest readers and enjoy all of the classroom fun! Remember, reading is a very important part of learning, no matter how old you are. Many of our very own Milwaukee Admirals players visit local schools to read stories and stress the importance of reading in education. I’d like to give huge congratulations to all of our reading program students; keep up the great work!
December was a very exciting month for everyone, but yours truly was quite busy participating in all of the holiday parties and parades. I started out my holiday trailblazing with an appearance in the South Milwaukee Christmas parade on Nov. 29th. I had a wonderful time waving to all of my fans that lined the streets! Thank you to all who came out and supported the parade, it was a blast!
I was very excited for the opening of the Red Arrow Park ice rink this season. I love getting to skate in the great outdoors along with all of my friends and family. I was lucky enough to be invited to the opening ceremonies along with lots of other people all set with their ice skates. Make sure to check out the rink when you get a chance, it sure is a fun time!
On December 5th I was invited to attend the Southeastern Hockey Association of Wisconsin’s 40th Anniversary celebration at Wilson Park. I had a great time with all our SHAW friends; congratulations on 40 wonderful years! After a very eventful afternoon I headed to Elkhorn to participate in their 28th annual Christmas parade. I love getting a chance to see the streets lined with families and friends, thanks to everyone who came out and braved the chilly temperatures!
I sure am glad to be the Admirals mascot, especially around Christmas time! This year I was the luckiest mascot in the world; I was invited to have cocoa with the Clauses in Cathedral Square Park! It was exciting to get to visit with Mr. and Mrs. Claus while sipping on some delicious hot cocoa; Santa even showed me his Naughty and Nice list, as long as I promised I wouldn’t tell who was on it! Thanks again to Santa for the wonderful time!
Rounding out my holiday tour was the Milwaukee Admirals Season Ticket Holder Holiday Party. It was such a wonderful time seeing all of our long-time and dedicated fans. The organization always values these individuals and this year’s party was a great success at making sure all felt appreciated. I want to thank everyone in attendance for making it such a fun time!
Phew! What a long month it has been! I’m ready to start the New Year off right with some hard-hitting action during our next few home games. After a short road trip I am excited to say that the Admirals are back at the Bradley Center tomorrow night, Thursday, Jan. 7 at 7 p.m. Come out and support the team as they take on the San Antonio Rampage for the first time in the New Year. Look for me in the stands and amongst the crowd, and make sure to stop and say hello! Until next time, go Admirals!
