A Birthday Thank You

January 25

Hey fans, Roscoe here! What a great weekend it was celebrating my birthday with all of my friends and fans out there! Thank you to everyone who came out to support the Admirals and to celebrate with me. Despite the team’s loss, the crowd’s spirit was still high and a good time was had by all. My favorite part of the evening (besides the yummy cake) was playing broom ball with all of my mascot buddies during the intermission. It was a tough competition but my team managed to come out on top to win the match. Great game everyone!

Last week I had an awesome time at the 2010 Time Warner Cable AHL All-Star Classic in Portland, ME. Everyone braved the snowy weather (15 inches!) and came out to celebrate the top players in the league. All the mascots and I made a trip to visit local schools the day of the game. It was interesting to meet hockey fans from a new town and to see the excitement on the kids faces when we all walked into the room. What a fun experience for us all!

I was really lucky to be able to watch Milwaukee’s own Cal O’Reilly compete in the skills races. Congratulations to Mr. O’Reilly for winning the “Best Puck Handling” competition, nice work Cal! As the day went on it was my turn to step up to the competition as I put on my dancing shoes and shake what Mama Roscoe gave me! I had a blast dancing my heart out, but in the end couldn’t come up with the win. I want to say congratulations to T-Bone, the San Antonio Rampage’s mascot for sweeping the crowd off their feet! Great work, but I’m brushing up on my dance moves for next year’s competition so watch out! At the end of the day the Canadian AHL All-Stars beat the PlanetUSA AHL All-Stars in a shootout 10-9.

Uh-oh, Mrs. Roscoe is calling me; she must want some pickles and peanut butter. These cravings are getting out of control! I have to run, but I hope to see all of my fans at the next Admirals game, Thursday, Jan. 28 at 7 p.m. when Milwaukee welcomes the Hamilton Bulldogs to the Bradley Center for the first time this season. It’s also a Aurora Sports Medicine Institute Autograph Corner, so make sure to stick around after the game to meet two of the Admirals players! Until next time, Go Admirals!
