Hey fans, Roscoe here! July was super busy but also a very wonderful month. I was able to attend a ton of parades in many different cities along with other exciting events around southeastern Wisconsin. Now I am ready to kick off my favorite time of the year! Can you guess why I am so excited…? You are right! The Wisconsin State Fair is starting soon!!
Although I am going to be very busy at the State Fair, I will first tell you about the other events I will be attending in the next few weeks. Starting on August 2nd, National Night Out 2010 is beginning! I will be at the Franklin Night out on Monday the 2nd in the Franklin Public Library. On August 3rd I will be at the Waukesha Night Out in Frame Park. On the 4th I will be at the St. Francis Night Out in Vretenar Park and on the 5th I will be at the Cudahy Night Out in the Cudahy Family Library. These events promote neighborhood spirit and police community partnerships in order to help the ongoing fight against crime. Please attend and learn some valuable things that will help keep our communities safe!
On August 6th, come stop by Pohlman Field in Beloit and attend Snappy’s Mascot Party! I am so excited to be with all of my mascot friends and have a great time playing games with kids!
Then on August 7th, I will be attending the Woof ‘n Hoof people and dog walk which helps raise awareness for cancer support. The event begins at 9:00 a.m. and will be starting at Atwater School in the Village of Shorewood. Bring your dog and come support Gilda’s Club Southeastern Wisconsin in their fundraising effort. I can’t wait to attend this great cause and meet tons of new friends!
On August 14th I am attending the Safari Saturday “Sports Day” at the Racine Zoo. Come see some awesome animals and play fun games with other Admiral’s fans! Also on the 14th is the 4th Annual Heart of Gold Charity Golf Outing in Twin Lakes at the Twin Lakes Country Club. This event promotes awareness of congenital heart defects in children so please either donate or come support this wonderful cause.
Now I am going to move on to my favorite event of the year! The Wisconsin State Fair begins on Thursday, August 5th at the State Fair Park in West Allis and ends on August 15th. There are so many exciting and fun things to do at the fair and I can barely wait! My favorite thing to do is meet new Admirals fans around the fair grounds, especially while I am taking part in the daily parade! The parade starts at 3:00 p.m. every day except the 15th and it weaves around the different parts of the fair. I always get to meet exciting people and this year will be no different!
Something exciting is happening right away on August 5th! The Admirals are making a very special announcement at 10:45 a.m. at the Pig Races. Hobey Baker Award winner Blake Geoffrion will be in attendance to help deliver this announcement! Want any more hints on the surprise?? Sorry! I promised I wouldn’t tell!
On August 7th, there will be a Mascot Meet and Greet in the Central Mall from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. All of my mascot friends will be in attendance and there is no better place to meet new people than the State Fair!
The Admirals will have a booth in the Wisconsin Exposition Center in-between aisles 500 and 600 on the east side of the building from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. every day. Along with our ever popular inflatable game and our awesome line of merchandise and jerseys we will be selling Roscoe’s Crew Memberships and “Get Caught” t-shirts! We will also have information on buying tickets for next season and on any other Admirals information you might want to know about! Please stop by and say hello!
These next few weeks will be very fun! The Wisconsin State Fair is always an exciting and wonderful time for everyone. If you already haven’t planned on attending, please consider stopping by! Also, don’t forget about the other events I have mentioned. These are all for very good causes so try your best to attend! Until next time, Go Admirals!
