What the Preds Have Done this Summer

Posted By: Steph Muraro--Nashville Beat

August 18

I glanced over at my calendar this morning and it dawned on me that The
Nashville Predators first home preseason game is less that a month away. On
September 17th, the Preds take on the Thrashers at the Sommet Center, which
means summer is officially about to end.

How did your favorite Predators spend their summer? Pekka Rinne went home to
his native Finland and spent his summer up north fishing for Arctic Char.
Defencemen Kevin Klein spent the summer hanging out with his family,
including newborn son Joseph. Admirals one-man wrecking crew Ryan Jones got
a haircut (sorry ladies!) and went home to hang out with his family in
British Columbia. And of course, Wisconsin's own Ryan Suter made a pit stop
in Milwaukee to take in the Northern Tool and Die 250 at the Milwaukee Mile
(no pun intended of course). To find out more about how they spent their
summers, head over to nashvillepredators.com and check out there blog
entries under the "features" section.

Speaking of Ryan Suter, Ryan is among 34 players attending Team USA Olympic
Training Camp this week in Chicago, including Mike Modano (Dallas Stars),
Tim Thomas (Boston Bruins), Brian Rafalski (Detroit Red Wings), and Zach
Parise (New Jersey Devils). The Madison-native Suter's father, Bob Suter,
was a member of the 1980 U.S. Mens team that defeated Soviet Russia to win
the gold medal in the infamous "Miracle on Ice" game. Here's to hoping
history repeats itself come February!
