With Nick Spaling's reassignment to Milwaukee this morning, Nashville's roster sits at 29 (which includes 18 forwards, 9 defensemen and 2 goaltenders). The team must shave at least 6 more players from the roster before 2pm CST October 1st. Rumor has is Nashville intends to have 6 active defensemen on the roster, so theoretically Milwaukee should be getting 3 defensemen and 3 forwards back by Thursday afternoon.
The Predators ended their preseason campaign with a 4-2 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets. Former Admiral Ryan Jones scored twice, and Patric Hornqvist and Nashville newcomer Francis Bouillon each added one. Goaltender Dan Ellis contributed 36 saves to the contest as well. With Sunday's win in Columbus, the Preds finished preseason action with 4 wins and 2 losses. The puck on the regular season drops Saturday night at Dallas against the Stars.
The home opener comes October 8th when Nashville takes on the Colorado Avalanche.
