The Hunt for Pink October Continues Friday
Oct 18, 2007
Milwaukee, WI – The Milwaukee Admirals continue their “Hunt for Pink October” this Friday, October 19th at 7:00 pm when they take on the Iowa Stars at 7:00 pm at the Bradley Center. The first 5,000 fans will receive an Admirals schedule poster, courtesy of Palermo’s, that features a breast cancer awareness theme.
In addition Friday’s game will be the first of three contests that feature a pair of 6’x11’ pink ribbons emblazoned on the Bradley Center ice. The Admirals had originally planned to paint the ice pink, however technical difficulties prevent the rink from being completed.
"We are honored to feature two huge pink breast cancer awareness ribbons on the ice at the Bradley Center," said Greenberg. "We believe that our fans will be emotionally impacted by these ribbons as so many women in our community are affected by this horrible disease. Our original plan to decorate the entire ice pink was technically challenging to accomplish this year but we look forward to achieving that goal next season."
Throughout the remainder of the month, fans will be able to bid on the helmets worn by Admirals players that feature a special pink ribbon and they can also purchase special pink Admirals’ hats with the money from both the hats and the helmets benefitting the Deanna Favre HOPE Foundation. The bid sheets for the helmets and the hats are located outside section 225 at the DigiCopy Information Table.
Deanna Favre, a breast cancer survivor, and wife of legendary Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre, will be at the Ads game next Wednesday, October 24 when they take on the Quad City Flames at the Bradley Center at 7 pm. Deanna will be signing her new book, “Don’t Bet Against Me” which is raising proceeds for the HOPE Foundation.
