'Maxime'-um Effort in Ads Win
Mar 29, 2008
Goalie Maxime Daigneault, making his first start in goal for the Admirals since Feb. 16, stopped all 35 Quad City shots to record his second shutout of the year in Milwaukee’s 1-0 win in Moline, IL Saturday night.
The Flames outshot Milwaukee 35-14.
The Admirals got on the board first with Matt Ellison’s 24th goal of the season. Alex Henry was able to hold the puck in the offensive zone with a pinch from the right point. The puck caromed to Antti Pihlstrom in the right wing circle. Ellison, who’d left the zone to backcheck, came back in and received the pass at the blue line. He skated down the slot before unleashing a wristshot just beyond the right hand of Flames’s goalie Matt Keetley with 4:50 left in the opening stanza. Pihlstrom and Henry notched the assists.
The Admirals host Houston Sunday at 4 p.m. All 400-level tickets to just $3 for the game and $2 from each of those tickets will be donated to the MACC Fund (Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer). In addition, $2 from all regularly priced lower bowl tickets will be also be donated to the MACC Fund.
