Predators Ink Netminder MacIntyre
Jul 2, 2008
Nashville, TN—Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced today that the club has agreed to terms on a one-year, two-way contract with free-agent goaltender Drew MacIntyre.
MacIntyre has spent the majority of the past two seasons with Vancouver’s primary developmental affiliate, the Manitoba Moose (AHL). In addition to posting a 25-18-2 record in 46 games with the Moose in 2007-08, the 6-1, 184-pound netminder saw the first NHL action of his career, making two relief appearances for the Canucks. The Charlottetown, P.E.I., native notched the AHL’s fifth-best save percentage (.921) in 2007-08, in addition to ranking fourth in the league in save percentage (.922) and third in goals-against average (2.17) in 2006-07.
MacIntyre recently told the Winnipeg Sun: "...the other thing is that Milwaukee is a great organization and they say I can play a lot of games (in the AHL)."
Originally a fourth-round selection (121st overall) of Detroit in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, MacIntyre has amassed a 94-55-6 record in 172 professional appearances in the NHL, AHL and ECHL since 2003-04.
