Milwaukee Wins Fourth Straight

Goalie Drew MacIntyre stopped 36 shots and Nick Spaling and Steve Werner scored goals in a shootout to help Milwaukee win its fourth straight game Wednesday night in Rockford, 2-1.
The win was Milwaukee’s second straight shootout win and put the Admirals two games over .500 for the first time this season.
The lone goal of the first period was scored at 19:17 by Milwaukee forward Hugh Jessiman. On the power play, Antti Pihlstrom fired a pass to the left circle for Cody Franson whose shot toward the right post bounced to Nick Spaling then to Jessiman. It was Jessiman’s first goal of the season.
MacIntyre withstood some good pressure in the first period with nine saves. He was also able to direct rebounds away from the opponent. MacIntyre also stopped nine in the second period.
In the second period, the Admirals were able to withstand a 5-on-3 IceHogs power play which lasted 62 seconds. Rockford entered the night second in the league with the man-advantage, converting 21.8% (30.6 % on home ice).
Rockford outshot Milwaukee 16-6 in the third period and scored its lone goal at 7:37 when Michael Blunden put a rebound into the net for a power play goal.
MacIntyre recorded his fifth win of the season.
The Admirals host Rockford Saturday at 1 p.m.
