Iowa outshot Milwaukee in the first period 12-10 but neither team was able to score a goal.
Milwaukee finally got on the board in the second period at 12:21 when Iowa turned the puck over to Hornqvist. Hornqvist fed a pass to Pihlstrom at the Chops blue line and Pihlstrom, with no one defending him, fired a shot past J.P. Levasseur for his seventh goal of the season.

Jones completed the scoring at 15:11 of the third. Mike Santorelli got the puck to Kelsey Wilson on the left wing boards in the Iowa zone. Wilson battled with an Iowa defender and was able to knock the puck to Jones. Jones skated from the boards into the slot and fired a wrist shot past Levasseur.
Only four penalties were called in the game, two against each team.
Milwaukee has won seven of its last eight games and finds itself in a tie for third place in the West Division with Rockford. The Admirals points percentage of .633 is second best in the division behind Chicago's .706.
