Milwaukee Drops Second Straight in Grand Rapids
Dec 20, 2008
The Milwaukee Admirals dropped consecutive games in Grand Rapids, losing Saturday 2-0 at Van Andel Arena.
The two losses comprise the first losing streak for Milwaukee since a 0-3-0-1 stretch from Oct. 13-Oct. 22, the second through fifth games of the season.
Mike Santorelli’s 14-game points streak came to an end. Santorelli’s streak is tied for the longest in the AHL this season.
The Admirals had two goals waved off by the referee. One was punched out of Howard’s glove by Triston Grant in the second period. The other was deemed to be knocked in with a high stick by Ryan Jones.
The Griffins scored the first goal of the game with 1:49 left in the second. Francis Pare passed along the right wing boards for Evan McGrath who carried the puck to the right circle in Milwaukee’s zone. McGrath found Jakub Kindl in the slot where Kindl shot the puck into the net for his fifth goal of the season.
Francis Pare added an empty net goal with 35.2 seconds left to ice the victory.
Mark Dekanich stopped 14 Griffins shots.
The Admirals host Iowa Sunday afternoon at 4 p.m.
