Dekanich and Miller Standout as Ads Snap Winless Streak
Feb 20, 2009
Milwaukee goalie Mark Dekanich recorded his first career shutout and Adam Miller notched his first AHL goal to give Milwaukee a 1-0 win against Chicago Friday at Allstate Arena.
The win snapped Milwaukee’s three-game winless streak.
Dekanich was sharp throughout the game, turning aside 27 shots for the shutout.
Miller scored his first AHL goal to give the Admirals a 1-0 lead at 6:40 of the second period. The Admirals were able to put quite a bit of pressure on Chicago, repeatedly intercepting clearing attempts and holding the blue line. Miller received the puck on the right half-wall and skated into the slot. His low wristshot beat Chicago goalie Ondrej Pavelec just beyond the left skate. Jed Ortmeyer and Robert Dietrich were credited with the assists.
The Admirals play host to the Manitoba Moose at 7:30 pm at the Bradley Center on Saturday night in a match-up of the two division leaders in the AHL’s Western Conference.
The first 4,000 fans through the gates will receive a cinch sack, courtesy of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Following the contest the Admirals present BoDeans in a special post-game concert that will begin approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of the game.
In addition, there are a limited number of on-ice passes available for the concert for just $20. An on-ice pass allows access to the concert from the ice directly in front of the stage, but it must be accompanied by a game ticket.
Fans can purchase tickets and on-ice passes by calling Ticketmaster at (800) 745-3000 or online at www.ticketmaster.com. Groups of ten or more people receive a minimum of $2 off of each ticket. For more information or to order group tickets call the Admirals office at (414) 227-0550.
