MacIntyre Shines in Shootout Win

Drew MacIntyre stopped 37 shots to help the Milwaukee Admirals snap a five-game losing streak in the shootout Wednesday night in a 2-1 win at Peoria.

 

Mike Santorelli, Nick Spaling and Andreas Thuresson all scored in the shootout while MacIntyre stopped three Rivermen shooters to give the Admirals a 6-2 mark against Peoria this season.

 

Milwaukee got on the board first when Ian McKenzie scored his third goal of the season at 3:38 of the second period. Triston Grant skated from the left wing boards around the Rivermen net and tried to stuff the puck on the right post. It bounced to McKenzie at the left post for a 1-0 lead. Grant and Mark Matheson recorded the assists.

 

Peoria tied the game when Rivermen defenseman T.J. Fast found Nicholas Drazenovic speeding up the right wing boards. Drazenovic went in on a breakaway and beat goalie MacIntyre to knot the game at 14:35 of the second period.

 

The Admirals will host the Chicago Wolves on Friday in the team’s regular season finale. Any fan who brings their baseball opening day ticket stub to the Bradley Center Box Office will receive $4 off any regularly priced Admirals ticket.

Friday’s Admirals game is Fan Appreciation night and all fans in attendance will receive an Admirals team picture, courtesy of U.S. Cellular. Milwaukee icon Pat McCurdy will entertain fans with his shtick in the east atrium before and after the game and also during the intermission. In addition, the Admirals will also be giving away many fabulous prizes, including a trip for two to Jamaica, courtesy of Funjet Vacations. Plus Reggy the Purple Party Dude will be in attendance, presented by Old Orchard Juice.
