Predators Resign Admirals Captain Nolan Yonkman

Milwaukee, WI–Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced today that the club has signed defenseman Nolan Yonkman to a one-year, two-way contract.
In three seasons with the Admirals, Yonkman has totaled six goals and 24 assists for 30 points, to go along with 296 penalty minutes in 207 games. Last year the Ads’ captain registered ten points (3g-7a) and 80 PIMs in 61 regular season games and 15 penalty minutes in 11 post-season contests. He established career highs in assists (10), points (13), and games played (77) with Milwaukee in the 2006-07 campaign and served as an alternate captain during his first two years with team before being awarded the captains’ “C” last year.
A native of Punnichy, Sask., Yonkman was originally Washington’s fifth choice, 37th overall (second round), in the 1999 Entry Draft. He has also played 50 NHL games since turning pro in 2001, notching eight points (1g-7a) and 90 penalty minutes in 50 contests.
