Admirals Set 2009-10 Promotional Schedule

Milwaukee, WI –The Milwaukee Admirals, winners of the AHL's Western Conference Best Fan Experience Award, announced their 2009-10 promotional schedule today that features promotional giveaways, live entertainment, opportunities for fans to take a lap or two around the Bradley Center ice after the game, and the second annual Dog Day Afternoon. The ever-popular Admirals Concert Series, which will include three pre- or post-game concerts with national recording artists, will be released at a later date. The team’s second annual Dog Day Afternoon, sponsored by Pedigree, will take place on Sunday, March 7th when the Ads take on Peoria at 4:00 pm at the Bradley Center. The game offers man the chance to bring his best friend to the game, while they both enjoy the hard-hitting action of Admirals hockey. Tickets for humans are $16, while dog seats are only $2.
Topping the list of giveaways this season are three bobblehead nights, including a bobblehead of President Abraham Lincoln in an Admirals sweater, courtesy of US Bank. The first 5,000 fans will receive a bobblehead of the 16th President on Old Abe’s 201st birthday, Friday, February 12th against the Rockford IceHogs. Admirals Captain Nolan Yonkman will be the first bobblehead of the season for the first 5,000 fans on Friday, January 22nd against Chicago, sponsored by Potawatomi Bingo Casino. Former Admiral and current St. Louis Blues goaltender Chris Mason will be the final bobblehead of the season, courtesy of Lee Jeans. Mason was selected from a group of former Admirals currently playing in the NHL by a vote of Admiral fans on a poll at www.milwaukeeadmirals.com.
The Ads are also featuring a number of new promotional giveaways this year, including Palermo’s Pizza Goalie Glove Oven Mitts for the first 3,500 fans on Friday, February 5th against Lake Erie and US Bank Zamboni banks for the first 1,500 kids 14 and under on Sunday, January 31st. Other new giveaways this year include Milwaukee Brewers Scarves for the first 5,000 on December 5th, Children’s Hospital Rulers for the first 1,500 kids 14 and under on December 20th, Buddig Deli Cuts Root-n-Toots noisemakers for the first 5,000 fans on December 29th, and Children’s Hospital Growth Charts for the first 1,500 kids 14 and under on February 21st.
The team also has brought back many of the popular promotional giveaways from previous seasons, such as Old Orchard Juice Magnetic Schedules at the team’s home opener October 24th, We Energies Calendars on December 11th, Potawatomi Cowbells on December 28th, and team pictures at Fan Appreciation Night on April 11th.
In addition, Milwaukee favorite Pat McCurdy will entertain fans before and after the game on December 29th and April 2nd, while the Zooperstars! will perform on Friday, January 1st.
As the team does each year, the Admirals will have a number of promotions with a charitable angle to them. At the commencement of the season the Admirals will host the “Hunt for Pink October” for the third consecutive year to help raise cancer awareness. During the month of October the Admirals will wear helmets with pink ribbons on them that will be auctioned off with the proceeds benefitting the American Cancer Society. In addition, the team will have giant pink ribbons emblazoned on the ice. More details about the Hunt for Pink October, including pink porch lights will be released shortly.
Potawatomi Bingo Casino will also sponsor Chuck-a-Puck, where fans can purchase foam pucks at select games for $1 and then throw them onto the ice for a chance to win great prizes. The proceeds from Chuck-a-Puck go to the Milwaukee Admirals Power Play Foundation, which is the team’s charitable arm.
The Admirals also have a number of continuity programs that run throughout the season. Highlighting this list is the return of the Chipotle Fiesta Deck where fans receive a Stern & Bow ticket, a certificate for a Chipotle Burrito (at participating Chipotle restaurants), and a kazoo for only $16.
Foley and Lardner and Time Warner Cable will present Family Days at seven games where fans can purchase four $16 tickets, four hot dogs and four small Pepsi products for only $40. Foley and Lardner also sponsor the Sunday Skate when fans can take a few laps on the Bradley Center ice after each Sunday home game.
The Aurora Sports Medicine Institute Autograph Corner also returns for another year. At 20 different games during the season two Admirals players will sign autographs after the game in the Autograph Corner, which is located outside section 225.
