Foreigner to Perform at Ads Game March 13
Nov 30, 2009
Milwaukee, WI- Milwaukee Admirals President Jon Greenberg announced today that classic rock legend Foreigner will perform in a post-game concert on Saturday, March 13, 2010 after the team’s 7:30 p.m. game versus the Toronto Marlies.
More than 30 years after forming, the band’s music resonates across generations and the globe thanks to an impressive run of 14 Top 20 hits and album sales exceeding 70 million.
In 2007, Foreigner electrified audiences with an acclaimed world tour celebrating the multiplatinum success of the group’s first 30 years. But while the band was honoring its past achievements onstage, it was plotting Foreigner’s first album in more than 15 years, CAN’T SLOW DOWN.
Mick Jones, the band’s founder and legendary songwriter/guitarist, produced the new album with Marti Frederiksen (Aerosmith and Buckcherry). Out last fall, it is the first full-length album to feature Foreigner’s revamped lineup: Jones, singer Kelly Hansen, bassist Jeff Pilson, guitarist Tom Gimbel, keyboardist Michael Bluestein, and drummer Brian Tichy.
The group has had numerous hits including, “Cold as Ice,” “Juke Box Hero,” “Urgent,” and “Waiting for a Girl Like You.” However, none have been more popular than the power ballad, “I Want to Know What Love Is,” which reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1985.
The performance by Foreigner will be the third concert the Admirals will host for their fans this season. Country music sensation Blake Shelton will perform on January 29 and the Dropkick Murphys will be live in concert on February 27. All shows in the Admirals Concert Series are free to attend with a game ticket.
