Dekanich Named ECHL Goaltender of the Week

Milwaukee, WI–The ECHL announced today that Mark Dekanich has been selected as the Reebok Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week after stopping a combined 51 of 52 shots while earning a pair of wins last weekend with the Cincinnati Cyclones.
Dekanich is in his second professional season and prior to this past weekend had every game of his career with the Admirals. On Friday night, he turned aside 24 shots in regulation time and stonewalled Florida through four rounds of the shootout to claim a 2-1 victory in his ECHL debut. Saturday night, he re-routed all 27 Everblades shots in the Cyclones 3-0 win before being recalled by the Admirals on Sunday.
Dekanich is 5-5-2 with a 2.78 goals against average and a .891 save percentage in 13 games with the Admirals this season. Last year the North Vancouver, BC native set Milwaukee franchise records with a .923 save percentage a 2.09 GAA while posting a 15-10-2 mark in his rookie campaign.
The Admirals are back in action on Friday, December 11 at 7:00 pm at the Bradley Center against the San Antonio Rampage. The first 10,000 fans will receive a We Energies 2010 Calendar.
