Sep 17, 2010

Milwaukee, WI – Milwaukee Admirals President Jon Greenberg announced today the team’s 2010-11 promotional schedule that features promotional giveaways, live entertainment, and opportunities for fans to take a lap or two around the Bradley Center ice after the game.

Highlighting the promotional schedule is a post-game concert with the Village People on Friday, December 3. These legends of disco have had five songs reach the Billboard Hot 100 including “Macho Man,” “In the Navy,” and, of course, “Y.M.C.A.” Other shows in the Admirals Concert Series, including FM106/Miller Lite Country Music Night, will be released at a later date.

Topping the list of giveaways this season are four bobblehead nights, including a bobblehead of Hall of Fame announcer Bob Uecker, courtesy of the Milwaukee Brewers, in the plaid sport coat he made famous in the Admirals commercials during the mid-90’s. The first 5,000 fans to the game on Friday, February 18th will take home a bobblehead of the Brewers radio announcer. Former Admirals star and current member of the Phoenix Coyotes Scottie Upshall will be the bobblehead distributed to the first 5,000 on Friday, March 11, courtesy of US Bank. In addition Potawatomi Bingo Casino will present a bobblehead of St. Louis Blues announcer and former Admirals goalie Darren Pang for the first 5,000 fans on January 21st.

Friday, February 4th will be a special day for University of Wisconsin fans as the Badger Band will make its annual appearance at the Bradley Center to perform during the game and then put on a special edition of the “Fourth Period” after the game, courtesy of Reinhart Partners. Plus, the first 5,000 fans will take home a bobblehead of former UW star and Hobey Baker Award winner Blake Geoffrion, thanks to Lee Jeans.

The Admirals will venture their way into the gubernatorial debate when they take a “straw poll” on October 23. The first 3,500 fans to that game will get a mask, courtesy of WisPolitics.com, that features the face of Scott Walker on one side and Tom Barrett on the other. During an intermission fans will be asked to show the face of the candidate that they support and the results will be tallied.

The Ads are also featuring a number of new promotional giveaways this year, including Vuvuzelas for the first 5,000 fans on December 28th, courtesy of Old Wisconsin, Pink Cheer Stix from Lee Jeans on October 15th, and U.S. Bank Roscoe Banks for the first 1,500 kids 14 and under.

The team also has brought back many of the popular promotional giveaways from previous seasons, such as Old Orchard Juice Magnetic Schedules at the team’s home opener October 9th, We Energies Calendars on December 11th, Potawatomi Bingo Casino Cowbells on December 29th, Team Pictures on January 8th, Goalie Glove Oven Mitts from Palermo’s on February 11th, and Fan Appreciation Night on April 14th.

In addition, Milwaukee favorite Pat McCurdy will entertain fans before and after the game on December 29th while actress Chelsea Staub of the Disney Channel’s Jonas LA will be at the Bradley Center to sign autographs and greet fans on January 8. Plus, the team’s annual Tribute to Wrestling featuring former grappling superstars will be on Sunday, February 20th.

As the team does each year, the Admirals will have a number of promotions with a charitable angle to them. At the commencement of the season the Admirals will host the “Hunt for Pink October” for the fourth consecutive year to help raise cancer awareness. During the month of October the Admirals will don special pink jerseys that will be auctioned off with the proceeds benefitting breast cancer research and Lee Denim Day Charities. In addition, the team will have giant pink ribbons emblazoned on the ice and Lee Jeans is giving away pink CheerStix to the first 5,000 on the 15th. More details about the Hunt for Pink October will be released shortly.

The Admirals are also proud to offer all Veterans free tickets to the team’s game on Friday, November 5 in honor of Veteran’s Day.

Potawatomi Bingo Casino will also sponsor Chuck-a-Puck, where fans can purchase foam pucks at select games for $1 and then throw them onto the ice for a chance to win great prizes. The proceeds from Chuck-a-Puck go to the Milwaukee Admirals Power Play Foundation, which is the team’s charitable arm.

The Admirals also have a number of continuity programs that run throughout the season. Highlighting this list is the return of the The Private Bank Family Days at nine games where fans can purchase four $16 tickets, four hot dogs and four small Pepsi products for only $44. The Private Bank will also sponsor the Sunday Skate when fans can take a few laps on the Bradley Center ice after each Sunday home game.

The Aurora Sports Medicine Institute Autograph Corner also returns for another year. At 20 different games during the season two Admirals players will sign autographs after the game in the Autograph Corner, which is located outside section 225.
