Admirals, Wolves Renew Amtrak Rivalry
Oct 14, 2010
Milwaukee, WI—Still in the college portion of their schedule (just two games per week), the Admirals are back on the ice this Friday night at the Bradley Center at 7:00 pm for the front end of a home-and-home series with the Chicago Wolves, as the Amtrak Rivalry kicks off for a second season.
The Admirals continue their “Hunt for Pink October” on Friday night as the first 5,000 fans will take home a set of pink cheerstix, courtesy of Lee Jeans. In addition, the team will debut their special pink jerseys that they will also wear on October 23 and then sell via silent auction with the proceeds going to Lee National Denim Day. Since 1996, Lee National Denim Day® has raised nearly $80 million for the fight against breast cancer. Money raised supports the Woman’s Cancer Programs of Entertainment Industry Foundation and Cancer Support Communities.
The silent auction, which will be located in the West Atrium, begins when the doors open at 6:00 pm and it will end with five minutes to go in the second intermission on October 23. The winning bidders will have the opportunity to meet the player whose jersey they win.
In addition to the pink jerseys, on Friday night the Admirals will be selling pink pucks that are autographed by an Admirals player, plus 30 pucks are signed by Desperate Housewives star Felicity Huffman, who serves as the Lee National Denim Day celebrity spokesperson. The pucks are $10 each and can be purchased at the DigiCopy Information Table, located outside section 225. The proceeds from the pucks will go to Lee National Denim Day.
Friday is also the debut of Fridays on Fridays, a new seating section the Admirals and Friday’s Front Row at Miller Park have joined forces to offer. At every Friday home, all the seats in section 221, rows R-Z are just $16 and that includes a free appetizer from Friday’s Front Row at Miller Park!
The Amtrak Rivalry is inspired by Amtrak’s Hiawatha Line, which runs a 90 minute trip between the two cities. Now in its second season, the Rivalry pits the Admirals and Wolves in a season long series with the winner taking home a traveling trophy, plus the best performance by an individual during the ten games will be selected as the Amtrak Rivalry MVP. The Wolves won the inaugural Amtrak Rivalry last season, while Tim Stapleton captured MVP honors.
