Milwaukee Suffers First Shutout of Season

Nov 20, 2010

The Milwaukee Admirals seven-game points streak came to an end Saturday with a 2-0 loss to the Texas Stars at the Cedar Park Center.

The loss was Milwaukee’s first in regulation since Oct. 30 when the team dropped a 4-2 decision at Abbotsford. It was also the first time the Admirals have been shutout this season. Texas goalie Richard Bachman stopped all 26 Milwaukee shots.

Texas got on the board first with just 34 seconds remaining in the first period. Stars forward Greg Rallo carried the puck across the Milwaukee blue line and fired a wristshot that clanged off the right post and into the net to give Texas a 1-0 lead.

The Stars made it 2-0 at 3:45 of the second period when Raymond Sawada buried a rebound of a Philip Larsen shot past goalie Mark Dekanich.

Dekanich turned aside 30 of 32 shots in the loss.
