Milwaukee’s four-game winning streak came to an end with a 3-0 loss to the Manitoba Moose Thursday at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg.
Milwaukee was thwarted on 12 shots in the third period, and all 27 in the game, by Moose netminder Eddie Lack. It was just the second time this season the Admirals suffered a shutout loss.
Manitoba claimed a 1-0 lead with a power play goal at 15:18 of the first period. Defenseman Nolan Baumgartner received a pass at the left point and skated to the left faceoff circle before firing a slapshot past Admirals netminder Mark Dekanich.
Another Moose defenseman made it 2-0 with another power play goal at 18:35 of the second period. Evan Oberg’s slapshot from the left point squirted past Dekanich to give the Moose a two-goal lead.
Moose forward Tommy Maxwell added an empty net goal with a minute left in the third period.
Dekanich stopped 18 of 20 in the loss.
