Teemu Laakso Re-Ups with Nashville

Milwaukee, WI—Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced today that the club has signed defenseman Teemu Laaksoto a one-year, two-way contract.
Laakso spent the majority of the 2010-11 campaign with the Admirals, ranking second on the club in plus/minus rating (+15) and second among Milwaukee defensemen in goals (8) and power-play goals (tie, 4). The Tuusula, Finland native was recalled by Nashville on three occasions last season, dressing for one game – a 1-0 victory at Dallas on Oct. 23.
The 6-1, 215-pound blueliner has spent the last three seasons in North America, going pointless in eight NHL contests with Nashville, while amassing 52 points (14g-38a) in 152 AHL games for Milwaukee. Nashville's second choice, 78th overall (third round), in 2005 Entry Draft is a product of the Finnish Elite League’s HIFK Helsinki organization where he played with former Predators Marek Zidlicky, Tomas Vokoun and Rem Murray from 2004-08.
