Admirals Add Mobile Platform to In Game Experience

Milwaukee, WI -- The next time a Milwaukee Admirals player takes off the gloves to settle a score with an opposing player, fans in the Bradley Center can light up their mobile phones and vote on which of the combatants won the scrap. And just by voting fans will win points and prizes all season long.
It’s all a part of an effort by the American Hockey League's Admirals to use mobile-web technology to encourage fan participation throughout the game experience at the Bradley Center.
Admirals In-Game is available now and can be played at the next Admirals game this Friday, February 3 against the Peoria Rivermen at the Bradley Center.
Through FANCONNET™ (available at www.admiralsingame.com) fans can play games, vote on the arena’s choice of music, share photos and have them displayed on the team’s Facebook page, receive team promotions, earn online mobile points and badges while working their way up the Admirals In-Game leaderboard, plus eligibility for grand prizes for top Admirals In-Game point earners.
In addition, fans can access the Admirals Web site for statistics, player information, ticket and schedule information.
“Admirals In-Game allows fans to use their mobile devices to engage directly into the game and with other fans in the arena,” Admirals President Jon Greenberg said. “This platform gives us the opportunity to make advances in the way we connect with our fan base and activate our sponsors.”
Greenberg also said the Admirals will be one of the first pro hockey team to add a mobile game platform to their in-game experience. He believes the “gamification” aspect of this technology has enormous potential, “not only for our fans, but for advertiser sponsored incentives for fans to participate.”
FANCONNET™, a product of St. Paul, Minnesota-based Accelerated Innovations, is compatible with all web-enabled mobile devices so any fan that can browse the internet on their phone can use it. FANCONNET™ was originally launched in minor league baseball last season and plans a number of deployments across pro hockey and basketball this winter.
