Goalie Troy Grosenick stopped 33 shots to lead the Milwaukee Admirals to a 2-1 win over the Rockford IceHogs Wednesday at BMO Harris Bank Center.

The win snapped Milwaukee’s five-game winless skid (0-3-1-1). It also snapped the Admirals six-game winless streak on the road (0-3-2-1). It was Milwaukee’s first road win since a 3-0 shutout at Rockford on Dec. 1.

Grosenick was nearly perfect for Milwaukee. Rockford scored its only goal in the third period. IceHogs forward William Pelletier deflected a Tyler Sikura shot into the net at 4:26 to make the score 2-1, in favor of the Ads.

The Admirals scored the only goal in the first period. Rockford’s Matheson Iacopelli tried to move the puck behind his own net, but inadvertently pushed the puck on his own goal. Milwaukee forward Yakov Trenin pulled it away from IceHogs goalie Anton Forsberg and put the puck into the net at 1:45 for his fourth goal of the season.

Milwaukee extended its lead with a second period goal from Connor Brickley. With Justin Kirkland providing a screen in front of Rockford’s goal, Brickley was able to push a loose puck into the net at 4:21 for his seventh goal of the season. Alex Carrier and Kirkland were awarded the assists.

Milwaukee’s road trip continues Sat., Jan. 5 with a game at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. Milwaukee returns home Wed., Jan. 9 at 7:00 pm against the Grand Rapids Griffins at Panther Arena. Fans can purchase tickets by calling the Admirals office at (414) 227-0550, or online at www.milwaukeeadmirals.com.
