Saros Backstops Admirals to Win
Milwaukee, WI—Juuse Saros stopped all 27 shots he saw and Trevor Murphy provided all the offense the Admirals would need as they took a 1-0 win over the Cleveland Monsters on Wednesday night at Panther Arena.
Reassigned to the Ads earlier in the day, Saros picked up his sixth career shutout for Milwaukee, while amassing his 44th win against just 14 career losses.
Murphy scored the lone goal of the game when he collected a loose puck in slot and wristed a shot past the right leg of Cleveland goalie Joonas Korpisalo at the 8:19 mark of the second period. It was Murphy’s fourth goal of the season and it was assisted by Freddy Gaudreau and Mark Zengerle.
The Admirals have now won three consecutive games for the first time since reeling off four in a row to begin the season.
The Admirals now hit the road for three straight beginning Friday night at 7 pm in San Antonio. Milwaukee’s next home game will be on Friday, January 19th at 7 pm against the Grand Rapids Griffins at Panther Arena.
