Milwaukee Can't Beat Brust, Falls to Heat
Barry Brust stopped 30 shots in net to lead the Abbotsford Heat over the Milwaukee Admirals Sunday in Abbotsford, 2-0.
Milwaukee pumped 23 shots on goal over the last two periods but couldn’t solve the AHL All-Star.
Milwaukee is now winless in a season-long five games. It was the third time the Admirals were held without a goal this season. The Admirals have lost six straight on the road, scoring just six goals in those games.
Abbotsford took the lead at 6:15 of the first period when Krys Kolanos slid a backhander from the left post into the net for his 11th goal of the season. In 25 lifetime games (counting playoffs) against the Admirals, Kolanos has 18 goals and 11 assists. He has scored at least a point in ten straight tilts with Milwaukee.
Defenseman Brett Carson scored a power play goal at 3:15 of the second period to give the Heat a 2-0 lead. With Quintin Laing providing a screen, Carson’s shot from the left point flew past Admirals goalie Magnus Hellberg.
Milwaukee returns to the BMO Harris Bradley Center Wednesday to take on the Houston Aeros at 7:00 pm.
