Tribute to Wrestling Set for Feb. 20
Milwaukee, WI--The Milwaukee Admirals annual “Tribute to Wrestling” night presented by ICAT Logistics will take place on Sunday, February 20 when the Admirals host the Texas Stars at 5:00 pm. The tribute will feature appearances by Koko B. Ware, Sergeant Slaughter, The Honky Tonk Man, and George “The Animal” Steele.
Sergeant Slaughter is best known for his success in the NWA, AWA, and WWF. In 1984, he was named Pro Wrestling Illustrated’s Most Inspirational Wrestler of the Year. He won the WWF Championship in 1991 and was inducted to the WWE Hall of Fame in 2004.
The Honky Tonk Man is the XJAM Heavyweight Champion and is currently working in the independent circuit. He previously worked for both the World Championship Wrestling (WCW) and the WWF, where he held the Intercontinental Championship for a record 64 weeks.
George “The Animal” Steele spent over 20 years as professional wrestler before retiring in 1989. He received a Slammy Award for the Best Performance by an Animal in 1987 and was inducted into the WWF Hall of Fame in 1995 and the Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2005.
The Admirals are back in action this Friday, January 28 when they host the Peoria Rivermen at 7:00 pm, followed by a post-game concert by country music star Rodney Atkins.
