Preds Acquire Mark McNeill from Dallas
Milwaukee, WI— Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile today announced that the club has acquired forward Mark McNeill from the Dallas Stars for defenseman Andrew O’Brien. In addition, the Admirals have traded forward Tyler Kelleher to the Texas Stars for future considerations.
McNeill has five goals and an assist in 18 games for Texas this season, after posting 11 points (3g-8a) for the Stars after being traded last year from Chicago. The Edmonton, AB native played parts of six seasons in Rockford, tallying 72 goals and 85 assists for 157 points in 373 games. He best offensive season came in 2015-16 when the lit the lamp 25 times and dished out 23 assists while skating in 64 games for the Hogs. He has also played in a pair of NHL contests, one with Chicago and one with Dallas.
Kelleher leads Admirals rookies in scoring with 12 points on seven goals and five assists, while O’Brien played in 21 games this season for Milwaukee, accumulating three assists and 27 PIMs.
McNeill will not be in action with the Admirals tonight when they take on the Manitoba Moose at 6 pm at Panther Arena. He’ll look to make his debut with the Ads on Tuesday night, also against the Moose.
