Ads Storm Back to Beat Wolves

Milwaukee, WI--Goals by Vladislav Kamenev and Adam Payerl just 12 seconds apart late in the third period turned a deficit into a 4-3 win over the Chicago Wolves in Amtrak Rivalry action on Saturday night at the Panther Arena.

With the Ads down but on the power-play late in the third, Kamenev ripped a one-timer from the right point over the shoulder of Phoenix Copley to level the score at three.

With the replay of Kamenev's goal still showin on the video board, Payerl found a loose puck in the crease and jammed it by Copley for a 4-3 lead with just 3:03 to play.

The Ads and goalie Marek Mazanec held firm from there, keeping the league's most potent offense off the board despite 90 seconds of 6-on-5 time with Copley pulled.

The Admirals got on the board first on Anthony Richard's third goal of the season 12:56 into the first period. Richard took a pass from Adam Payerl in the high slot and came in with a hammer over the right shoulder of Chicago goalie Phoenix Copley.

The Wolves tied the game up at one on Samuel Blais 16th goal of the season at the 9:32 mark of the second period.

Adam Payerl regained the lead for the Ads as he and Vladislav Kamenev coverted on a 2-on-1 at 6:15 of the third period. Kamenev was stretch out wide of the right dot and he sent a cross-ice backhand over to Payerl on the doorstep and he slide the puck by Copley for his ninth goal of the year and second in as many games.

Goals by Ty Loonie and James Wisniewski at 9:47 and 11:06 turned the Ads one-goal lead into a one goal deficit.

However, that just set the stage for Kamenev's game-tyin

The Admirals finish up a 3-in-3 weekend when they travel to Rockford Sunday afternoon to take on the Rockford IceHogs at 4 pm. The Ads next home game will be on Wednesday, February 15 when they host the San Antonio Rampage at 7 pm.
