Hellberg Stays Hot as Ads Douse Heat

MILWAUKEE – Tuesday night’s game versus the Abbotsford Heat at the BMO Harris Bradley Center proved the Milwaukee Admirals are willing to put up a fight for a playoff spot, as they turned down the Heat 2-1.

Ads goalie Magnus Hellberg stopped 29 of 30 shots for his second straight win and now has turned aside 59 of the past 60 shots he has faced.

The Admirals held their own and kept a scoreless first period, despite being challenged with 31 seconds of a 5-on-3 PP for Abbotsford. Milwaukee finished with a total of eight shots while Abbotsford tallied 16 shots during the first.

Juuso Puustinen was the first to light the lamp for the match at 11:50 of the second period. Cam Reid pulled a pass across his body to Puustinen who beat Abbotsford goalie Barry Brust over the glove.

At 3:35 in the third period, Chris Mueller had a blind pass to Taylor Beck who weaved past the netminder, pushing the Ads ahead 2-0.

The Heat’s Max Reinhart was able to snap a goal past Hellberg getting Abbotsford on the board at 2-1 and ending the Ads goalie's shutout streak at 166:03.

Reid has successfully gained a point in each of his past four games since missing eight contests with an injury.

The Admirals host the San Antonio Rampage on Friday night at 7 pm at the BMOBC.
