Ads Surrender to Heat
Milwaukee, WI – The Milwaukee Admirals surrendered the final three goals of the game, which eliminated a 2-1 lead, as they fell to the Abbotsford Heat 4-2 on Friday night at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.
The first period started off quickly for the Heat when Ben Street passed the puck from the top of the left circle to Sven Baertschi who got a slap shot past goaltender Scott Darling just one minute into the first period, and giving Abbotsford and early 1-0 lead.
The Admirals responded when Miikka Salomaki skated the puck across the blue line and passed it to Colton Sissons. He then took a shot which was blocked by Olivier Roy, before it bounced back to Vinny Saponari who found an open spot and slapped it past Roy to level the score at one.
The second period started almost as quick when Patrick Cehlin passed the puck over the blue line and into the possession of Taylor Beck. He then drove the puck to the net with a hard wrist shot over the glove of Roy which put the Admirals in the lead 2-1.
Abbotsford went on the power play where Street was spring on a breakaway from Brett Olson. Street lifted a backhand over Darling that bounced off the post and back onto the ice where it got stuck under the Ads netminder got pushed back into the net tying up the score 2-2.
Max Reinhard snapped the tie and got the game-winner with 7:58 left to play in the game. The Heat game into the zone 3-on-2 and tic-tak-toe passing play resulted in Reinhard roofing a forehand from directly in front of Darling.
Olsen complted the scoring with less than a second to play on an emtpy netter, making the final score 4-2.
The Admirals head to Rockford tomorrow night to continue their three-in-three. Their next home game will be on Wednesday night when they host the Grand Rapids Griffins at 7:00pm.
