Admirals Fall to Wolves
Chicago defenseman Ivan Vishnevskiy scored from the point with 12:35 to play to lead the Wolves past the Milwaukee Admirals Saturday at Allstate Arena 2-1.
After a faceoff win by Jason Krog, Johnny Pohl fed a pass to Vishnevskiy for the game-winning tally.
The Wolves got on the board when Spencer Machacek took a feed from Krog at the bottom of the left Admirals circle and fired a low shot that beat Milwaukee goalie Mark Dekanich with 2:55 left in the first period. The goal came just three seconds after Admirals center Dave Scatchard left the penalty box.
Admirals defenseman Alex Sulzer tied the game with a wristshot from the left point at 12:47 of the second period. Ryan Maki chipped the puck behind Chicago’s goalie Peter Mannino. Nick Spaling forced it away from a defender and sent a pass into the slot that made its way to Sulzer. Sulzer’s quick shot tied the game. It was his fifth goal of the season and Spaling earned the lone assist.
Dekanich stopped 23 shots as did his counterpart, Mannino.
