Ads Streak Snapped by Wolves
Milwaukee, WI--The Admirals saw their four-game winning streak snapped in a 4-3 loss to the Chicago Wolves on Friday night at Panther Arena.
Milwaukee battled back from a two-goal third period deficit to tie the score, but a late power-play marker from Chicago proved to be the difference.
The Wolves picked up a goal in both the first and second periods to build a 2-0 lead after 40 minutes of play.
Anthony Richard cut the Chicago lead in half with his 14th tally of the season. Richard carried the puck into the Wolves zone one-on-one, stopped sharply between the wheels before snapping a wrister over the shoulder of Oscar Dansk just 65 seconds into the third.
Chicago regained a two-goal lead on a Paul Thompson tally at the 2:48 mark of the third.
However, Harry Zolnierczyk would pull Milwaukee within a goal exactly six minutes later when he intercepted a pass up the slot and had all the time in the world to pick his corner for his 17th goal of the season.
Freddy Gaudreau kept the Admirals momentum going when he tied things at three with only 5:26 to go in the game. Gaudreau initial shot was stiffled by a Wolves defender, freezing Dansk just long enough for him to squeeze a shot short side.
Unfortunately for Milwaukee their momentum was stopped courtesy of a power-play tally from Chicago's Zack Leslie with only 1:43 to play.
The Admirals pulled goalie Troy Grosenick in favor of an extra attacker with 75 seconds to go, but they couldn't find the equalizer.
The Ads finish up their four-game homestand by hosting the Rockford IceHogs at 6 pm at Panther Arena.
